Safe Environment Training
Safe Environment Training is MANDATORY for all new and returning adult volunteers over the age of 18 working/interacting with minors per the Diocese of Colorado Springs and USCCB. Volunteers new to the diocese MUST complete the two-hour initial training in addition to volunteer application/paperwork. Returning volunteers must complete the update training yearly.
St. Peter Catholic School has a strong School Advisory Council (SAC) and dedicated Home & School Association (H&SA). All parents are encouraged to “donate” 30 hours of service to the school through helping in the classroom, book fairs, administrative tasks, chaperoning field trips or helping in the lunchroom. Safe Environment Training is required of all our volunteers.
Raptor Visitor/Volunteer Management System
St. Peter Catholic School uses the Raptor Visitor/Volunteer Management System as part of our campus safety program for students and faculty. A key part of keeping students and faculty safe is knowing who is in our building at all times, and the Raptor system allows us to track visitors and volunteers greatly enhancing the security of our school. School Advisory Council (SAC)
The School Advisory Council is comprised of parents who provide the pastor and principal with insight on school policy and evolving issues. Members are representative of the school population and parent community, and serve as a sounding board for the administration and as a resource to the school community to present comments, issues and suggestions for consideration. A number of subcommittees assist in the positive growth and enrichment of the school each year.
Home & School Association (H&SA)
The H&SA is comprised of parents, a faculty liaison and the school administrator who support the mission of the school through the service, special projects, family social events, and fundraising efforts.
Parent volunteers are always welcome to join the General H&SA meetings! Board meetings will take place once a month beginning at 8:15am. General H&SA meetings will meet the 2nd Friday of the month at 8:15am
Anyone interested in an executive position needs to be available to attend both these meetings as well as fulfill their duties under their job descriptions.
HelpCounter is our volunteer coordinating program that tracks volunteer opportunities and family volunteer hours.
