Crusader Stories
The Helgoth FamilyAs a family with six kids, education has always been a top priority for us. We home-schooled our oldest two children from the very beginning and began to home-school our third oldest when he became school-age. We always assumed we would home-school all of our children. When our sixth child was born six years ago, we were entering middle school with our oldest. Having a middle schooler, two elementary schoolers, a preschooler, a toddler and a baby was a lot for this mama to handle at home alone. We decided to put our preschooler into St. Peter Preschool, just to give mom a little bit of a break and time to work with each of the kids on what they needed. What I didn’t know at the time, was the blessing that St. Peter would become for our family. That preschooler continued into kindergarten and the experience we had with the teachers and other families made it clear to us that we had found a home for our children at St. Peter Catholic School. So much so, that at the end of that year, we decided to put our third child into third grade. He is now in middle school and is flourishing and so are the three younger ones. I never imagined that school, even a Catholic school, would give me what I needed so beautifully and support the Catholic faith we were handing onto our children at home.
