The Keenan/Anderson Family
We have been a part of the St. Peter Catholic School family for 3 years. When we decided to move away from Denver, we knew we wanted a small town feel with the near accessibility to bigger cities. When we first moved to Monument, Macy and I commuted to Denver for school and work at the same Catholic School. We wanted to have school roots closer to home. I (McKenna) ideally wanted to continue my work in the Catholic schools alongside my children. I found my role as the Director at Holy Apostles Preschool. With that position, I did not have the opportunity to be in the same building as my children. The next best thing was a Catholic school in the same district. We really wanted to build fellowship in a school attached to our home parish. St. Peter was the best fit for us and more than willing to work with our blended family.
Macy, currently in 5th grade, has built a small community with her classmates that support her academically, spiritually, and academically. Her self confidence continues to grow through the opportunities she is provided to present: All Saint's Day, science fair, class presentations, as an altar server, and on the athletic court. Trent, 5th grade elsewhere, had the opportunity to attend St. Peter for a semester to discover what school and home-life suited his needs. His teacher and Fr. Michael worked with us to delve into some deeper social and academic concerns and ultimately he was able to process what would be best for him at this stage in life. Wyatt is a bubbly and eager to learn 3 year-old. Wyatt loves being at the same school as his sister. The preschool staff has been incredible and have grown to know and care for our son. I feel safe with my children in a secure building both physically and emotionally. Our Catholic faith is the foundation that keeps our blended family together. We are grateful to be a part of the St. Peter family. |
The Williams FamilyWhen we were looking for a school for our children, we weren’t just interested in good academics (which St. Peter has!) but also for a community. From the moment we first walked through the doors, we knew we’d found that at St. Peter. Beyond the faith-based and academically-excellent education, we knew this was a place where we would be safe, welcomed, and supported— and that has been so true. All of the staff and teachers and all of the students form an incredible family and positive atmosphere that just cannot be found anywhere else. We love St. Peter!

"We were hoping that St. Peter would provide an environment that would surround our children with kindness and compassion, expectation and forgiveness, accountability and encouragement, and most of all faith and love. What we found was our family." |
The Pepper FamilyWe’ve been a part of the St. Peter community from the beginning, literally. Our oldest daughter is attending St. Mary’s College at Notre Dame, and started at St. Peter (with Miss Julie and “The Nother Miss Julie”) in 2004. We currently have a kindergartner, a sixth grader, and a freshman at St. Mary's High School. We span 16 years and four students at St. Peter (with eight more years to go). The most remarkable part of our journey has been witnessing the growth, not only in the school itself as it expanded from a preschool, to a preK-6th, to finally a full preK through eighth grade institution, but in the community itself. What started out as a group of nervous young parents looking for “a safe place to educate their children” has now become a confident group . . . of nervous young parents . . . looking for “a safe place to educate their children”. The change sounds insignificant, but it is remarkable.
We were hoping that St. Peter would provide an environment that would surround our children with kindness and compassion, expectation and forgiveness, accountability and encouragement, and most of all faith and love. What we found was our family. I can’t imagine how difficult and lonely it must be to try and raise your children without the support and love that we have received from our family at St. Peter Catholic School. I know that many simply don’t have this opportunity. It isn’t easy to make the sacrifices that we all make in order to raise our children with the St. Peter family, but I know in my heart that it is worth every bit of the effort. I am confident in my decision to send my children to St. Peter, and I am confident when I tell you that if you choose to send yours, you will find a family that is willing to surround you within a place that is so much more than simply a “safe place to educate your children”. Come join our St. Peter Family. -Mick Pepper |
"St. Peter Catholic School has been a blessing to our family and we could not be happier with the environment our children are able to learn and grow in everyday." |
The Meifert FamilyWe have been a part of St. Peter for 12 years. We found St. Peter as we were searching for a faith-based preschool in Monument for our oldest daughter, Abby. We had every intention of moving her to one of the local charter schools for elementary school. God had other plans for our family! Our preschool experience was so fantastic that we decided to keep her in the school and later enrolled our other kiddos when they reached preschool age.
We are a Protestant family but I (Melissa) attended Catholic school and have been a Catholic school teacher. Our children have learned Bible-based and virtue-based education. They have been able to talk about God in school and have never had issues with being Protestant in a Catholic School. They have been loved and supported like all other students. Our children have been nurtured and loved by the St. Peter family. Abby, now 15 and a sophomore at St. Mary’s High School, graduated from St. Peter in 2018. Her school experience has always been challenging as she struggled with reading. The support that she received from the interventionists, her teachers and the principal was overwhelming. Jack will graduate this year and has been encouraged to be a leader during his time at St. Peter. He is challenged and was able to enroll in a High School Geometry class this year to continue to advance in Math. Sarah is in second grade and has been encouraged and loved as she is timid in the classroom. She has developed a love of learning because of this encouragement. I am now in my third year of teaching at the school and currently teach Middle School Literature. St. Peter Catholic School has been a blessing to our family and we could not be happier with the environment our children are able to learn and grow in everyday. |
Rose BlaziMy name is Rose Marie Blazi and I have been a member of St. Peter Catholic Church for 31 years. I was so excited when St. Peter had plans to build a Catholic school, and I couldn’t wait to be able to apply for one of the positions as a preschool teacher. The school opened in the fall of 2003 and I was hired as a preschool teacher and assistant director.
In 2015, I retired because my husband was already retired, but I decided after one year that retirement was not for me. I was fortunate that Julie Malone hired me back. At the present time, I am teaching a three year-old class and loving it! I love working for my church because I love being able to share my faith with the children. St. Peter is my home away from home. I would not want to work in any other place than St. Peter Catholic School. God has blessed me by giving me the opportunity to teach children at St. Peter Catholic School. I love working with our close-knit community. We are one big family of believers. Our focus is on developing the whole child and leading him/her to a closer relationship with God. Children are encouraged to openly discuss their love for God and God’s love for them. I also love the academic rigor of our curriculum. Students are well prepared academically and spiritually to become future leaders in the world community.

Julie MaloneHow long have you been at St. Peter?
I have worked for St. Peter since 2003. This is my 17th year. I started in the three year-old class as an assistant. How many kids do you estimate that you have taught in preschool over the years? Maybe somewhere between 400-450 children What's your favorite thing about teaching preschoolers at St. Peter? I love the preschool age! They are so excited about everything. I love teaching them about Jesus, who He is, and how He is involved in every part of our lives. It is so much fun to experience the little things with them for the first time. I love their innocence, honesty and funny humor. How does the St. Peter preschool program prepare children for kindergarten? I think our preschool, starting in the three year-old class, prepares the children very well for the next step in school. There has to be a great balance of fun and learning. The teachers work hard to prepare each child to be the best version of themselves. |
"Our children often teach me something I didn’t know about our faith, and I am often humbled by the love and compassion |
The Cuccinelli FamilyWhy St Peter Catholic School? We are blessed to have four children at St. Peter’s and one that is now in high school that graduated from SPCS. Our children all love school and have flourished academically, socially and emotionally at SPCS. Our high schooler is thriving in part to the solid foundation, academic excellence and nurturing environment he received at St. Peter. For us academics are important, but the Catholic identity is just as important. Our children think everyone prays before meals and can have open discussions about religion in the classroom. They participate in service projects, love the Reading Buddies’ program and enjoy “family time” at school; all helping my children to develop into the best version of themselves.
St. Peter is our village. The teachers and staff care for our children like their own. They are vested in not only their academic success, but in their emotional growth and well-being. They reinforce the values we are teaching at home. Our children often teach me something I didn’t know about our faith, and I am often humbled by the love and compassion they have for others. Our children feel safe and supported in the classroom. The staff all know not only our children but my husband and me. They show up at sporting events and extracurricular events to support our children. Even now they stop me and asked how my high schooler is doing. They genuinely care about my children, and we feel so blessed to be part of this village. |
"We couldn't be happier with our choice of St. Peter Catholic School." |
The Mulloy FamilyWe first started at St. Peter Catholic School when our oldest daughter was in 2nd grade. Our boys were both in preschool and we were absolutely hooked on the school after their first year.
This school is unlike any other school because of the true sense of community. The teachers and administration all genuinely care about the students, and our kids have developed a strong appetite for LEARNING. One aspect of the school that we were unaware of was the extracurricular and athletic program. Not only do the kids have an excellent physical education experience at St. Peter, they also have the opportunity to participate in sports right at school, specifically, after school. Our daughter started playing on both the school volleyball and basketball teams as a 4th grader, and now, as an 8th grade team member, just earned trophies for league champions for both of these sports. Our boys have participated in the wrestling program since they were in kindergarten. This year, our middle son has the opportunity to play on the school basketball team and he is beyond excited. Additionally, our kids have both participated in the school musical (Aladdin, Frozen and Lion King) and our son plays saxophone in the band. We came to St Peter for the top tier, unparalleled education for our kids in a faith-based environment. And we have gotten it! But alongside this tremendous education, we've also acquired the friends that are like family, exceptional communication from all teachers, and the rare opportunity for our kids to participate in sports right at their school as elementary and middle school kids. We couldn't be happier with our choice of St. Peter Catholic School. |
