Crusader Stories
The Keenan/Anderson FamilyWe have been a part of the St. Peter Catholic School family for 3 years. When we decided to move away from Denver, we knew we wanted a small town feel with the near accessibility to bigger cities. When we first moved to Monument, Macy and I commuted to Denver for school and work at the same Catholic School. We wanted to have school roots closer to home. I (McKenna) ideally wanted to continue my work in the Catholic schools alongside my children. I found my role as the Director at Holy Apostles Preschool. With that position, I did not have the opportunity to be in the same building as my children. The next best thing was a Catholic school in the same district. We really wanted to build fellowship in a school attached to our home parish. St. Peter was the best fit for us and more than willing to work with our blended family.
Macy, currently in 5th grade, has built a small community with her classmates that support her academically, spiritually, and academically. Her self confidence continues to grow through the opportunities she is provided to present: All Saint's Day, science fair, class presentations, as an altar server, and on the athletic court. Trent, 5th grade elsewhere, had the opportunity to attend St. Peter for a semester to discover what school and home-life suited his needs. His teacher and Fr. Michael worked with us to delve into some deeper social and academic concerns and ultimately he was able to process what would be best for him at this stage in life. Wyatt is a bubbly and eager to learn 3 year-old. Wyatt loves being at the same school as his sister. The preschool staff has been incredible and have grown to know and care for our son. I feel safe with my children in a secure building both physically and emotionally. Our Catholic faith is the foundation that keeps our blended family together. We are grateful to be a part of the St. Peter family. |
